Don't they need to 'socialise' with other puppies?
Choosing 1:1 private puppy training offers significant advantages over generic puppy schools, particularly in the crucial early developmental stages.
Private training allows you to begin working with your puppy from as young as 8 weeks old in your home, before full vaccination, meaning you don't miss the optimal window for socialisation and learning. This early start is critical for preventing unwanted behaviours like reactivity, which can develop from frustration in group settings where puppies may be overwhelmed or unable to learn at their own pace.
In a home setting, your pup is able to learn more effectively in a relaxed environment and the training is tailored specifically to your puppy's individual needs and temperament, addressing any specific challenges or concerns you may have. I will help you set your home up optimally for your pup, give you all the information you need for those first few weeks while they settle in and establish routines and good behaviours with all family members.
I will also outline the best and safest way to socialise your pup with other dogs along the way. Socialising should begin with family and friends' dogs who you know are fully vaccinated, have good temparaments with other dogs and should always be fully supervised so you are able to advocate for your pup if you need to. Wrestling with random puppies in a puppy school class is not a good way to socialise your pup.
Classes that make the focus on engagement with you and not other dogs are much better.
My personalised approach ensures your puppy receives focused attention and avoids potentially negative experiences that can occur in larger, less controlled group environments, setting them up for a lifetime of positive interactions and well-adjusted behaviour.

In this program, you will learn all the essentials of having a new puppy, even if you are a first timer, including:

Advanced Puppy
4 x 1 Hour Sessions
This is our most popular program
In this program, you get all of the elements of the Basic Puppy Program, plus the following:

If you are looking to take your training from puppy to adolescence, this program is for you!

I will cover all of the previous two programs and then teach you how to 'proof' these behaviours in a range of settings. Proofing means to make sure that your pup/dog is able to perform the same level of obedience no matter what the distraction and listen to you every time!
This program takes you from puppy to adolescent.

I have extensive experience with school & workplace wellbeing and therapy dogs and can tailor training to suit these requirements.
With my extensive teaching background of over 15 years and having experience coaching and guiding schools through their wellbeing dog journeys, I have the skills to teach all student, family and staff members in how to best train and advocate for your new puppy and ensure a long, safe and happy involvement with your community!
